while cleaning my rice container a couple of weeks ago, it slipped from my hand and cracked leaving a big chunk in my hand. i knew straight away it was bad (i mean really really bad). it's NOT good! it's like seven years bad luck when you break a mirror kinda bad.
as my container was made of ceramic, my Husband suggested maybe we get a plastic one this time (not easy to break). what?! plastic! nnnooooo....yeah, you guessed it.....i'm not a big fan of plastic - give me bad luck anytime. anyway, plastic is not good for you and the environment in the long run lah.
so my poor Husband had to drive me all the way to Inanam (the pottery place that i normally go to) just to find that they didn't have the size that we wanted but the lady there suggested we go further down (before Berungis). luckily they had two left - asking price for the rice container was RM58 but my Husband @ The Bargainer got it for RM45 (it's one of the reason i keep him around - ha ha ha ha). i had always paid full price for everything till i met my Husband who kindly showed me the error of my way ;)
was feeling a bit peckish as we didn't manage to have lunch so we stopped to have early tea at one of the famous bun shop in Inanam. their peanut buns were sold out! *shakes head*
some photos of our "shopping" trip. didn't take a lot as the lady boss reluctantly gave permission to take pictures (i think the only reason she said okay was because we bought something). Husband said maybe she thought we were the competition. competitor? i'm promoting your place what! oh ya, didn't get a photo of the pottery's signboard as it started to rain - sorry.....

You Got the Job
yes, i'm going back to work - can i back out of it? i've not worked for seven years so of course i have reservations! wait a minute, i can't say that i haven't worked all that time as being a full time Mum is damn hard work especially if you don't have a maid. i have to say something here to my Husband, "i know i hardly say this but i really appreciate the support and help that you have given me in raising our two kids - ♥luv you♥". okay back to what i was saying - being a domestic engineer is totally different cause now i'll be dealing with adults and not kids.
i didn't expect to go back to work this soon (wanted the kids to be a bit older) but what to do...life doesn't always goes as you planned it. i'll be holding the post of Sales Coordinator (sure doesn't sound as good as Domestic Engineer - ha ha ha). i'll have two staff to manage (boss around) - liking this job already. no lah, i'm not that mean! i'll just get them to go stand in the corner and think about what they did wrong when they screw up - ha ha ha ha
yeah, a legitimate reason to go (work) clothes shopping!!

King of Pop
has it been a year already since Michael Jackson passed away?! it just amazes me how many lives he has touched and still does. i'm not his biggest fan but nobody can deny the influence/impact that he had on music and dance. i really hope he has found peace.
so anyone has any big plans this weekend? i'll be attending my ex-colleague son's wedding reception tomorrow. i feel really old cause i knew this boy as a kid and now he's married!!
hope everyone has a good weekend and will leave you with this video of MJ's famous moves - enjoy.

Milky Tea
i was surprised when my Boy told me he wanted milky tea as he's very particular with what he eats or drinks. he has yet to try eating vegetables (raw or cooked) - not from my lack of trying. what really upsets me is that he doesn't want to try - if he at least tries he might actually like it. he's very stubborn on this matter which my Husband says comes from my side of the family - ya, all the good traits comes from his side and bad ones from my side (funny Husband).
he didn't really like it when he first tasted his father's milky tea due to the chewy pearls thingy - it's hard to avoid getting some into your mouth every time you take a sip. he spat every single pearl out then drank the tea but now he polishes the whole thing - pearls included......go figure.

Bad Hair Day
i've decided yet again to grow my hair long. i get into a "hair dilemma" twice a year - should i cut it short or let it grow?? my poor Husband has learned to stay away/avoid/pretend he didn't hear the question when asked - he he he he.
at the moment i just hate the stage/length where it's at - i don't know about you ladies but my hair tend to flick out when it just reaches my shoulder (arrggghhh). you might say, "why doesn't she use a hair dyer then?" i don't like using it as i prefer to let my hair dry naturally and using the dryer takes time - getting the thing plugged in, doing your hair part by part and it's just so much work lah. and letting it dry naturally is a lot better for your hair.
come on now hair behave for your mother.......please.......pretty please....

Aurora Borealis
this is one of the things on my 'to do' list before i pass on - to witness one of the most spectacular light shows in the world!
Auroras also known as northern and southern polar lights which are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar regions.
In northern latitudes, the effect is known as the aurora borealis, named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for the north wind, Boreas.
The aurora borealis is also called the northern polar lights as it is only visible in the sky from the Northern Hemisphere, with the chance of visibility increasing with proximity to the North Magnetic Pole.
Its southern counterpart, the aurora australis or the southern polar lights is only visible from high southern latitudes in Antarctica, South America or Australasia.
Scientifically, the Auroras are produced by the collision of charged particles from Earth's magnetosphere, mostly electrons but also protons and heavier particles with atoms and molecules of Earth's upper atmosphere.
The lights are at their most frequent in late autumn and winter/early spring. October, February and March are the best months for auroral observations.
there is a slight problem with this plan of mine though - i'm not sure i can handle the extreme cold temperature! oh well, will worry about it when this wish comes true one day - for now dream on....

Say NO to Coal!
haven't we learned anything from the developed nations?! i'm very sure that we can find a much better solution to our power shortage people. some say that the coal plant in Peninsular is well managed, waste product is well disposed of, etc. what guarantee is there for us that it would be the same here? what works over there doesn't mean it would turn out well here does it. given how things are managed in this State, it will just be one huge mess in the end.
please show your support by posting 'Faces of a cause - Sabah does not want a coal plant!' into your blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
NO COAL! Check out it ain't green, it's BLACK! at http://www.facebook.com/pages/it-aint-green-its-BLACK/397884026203 for more info.

Toy Story 3
kids have been like a dog with a bone when they saw the trailer for Toy Story 3 - when they saw the release date my Husband and i were dead in the water. every single day we were reminded of it (my kids are persistent if nothing else).
Woody, Buzz and the whole gang are back. As their owner Andy prepares to depart for college, his loyal toys find themselves in daycare where untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice. So, it's all for one and one for all as they join Barbie's counterpart Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants and a pink, strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear to plan their great escape. Written by Walt Disney Studios
comments on the movie:
Husband say "okay lah" (which is typical of him)
Mum say "it's the best of the Toy Story trilogy. the people that work at Pixar are unbelievable talented. i got teary eye at the end - kids grow up and leave you!" sniff
my Girl say "i cried a little in the end" (enjoyed it very much)
my Boy say "nice" (so much like his father) - he loved the part where the toys tried to escape - should have seen him jumping up and down in his seat.
verdict : must watch for adults that have a bit of the kid in them and kids enjoy!

Justified
i don't really like to follow any TV series cause if i missed an episode it will just bug me so i try not to but when i saw the trailer to Justified on AXN (starts 17 June at 11pm) i just knew i had to watch it. i have a soft spot for cowboys (i know so kasian kan - ha ha ha). anyways, a girlfriend of mine told me of a site where you can watch TV series for free so i've just completed watching Episode 4. what have i gotten myself into - i'm hooked! Americans and their guns - ha ha ha. please be warned though that this show is pretty violent - i know kids now days are used to much more violent stuff but i censor what my kids watch.
Plot Summary for "Justified":
U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up. He is an anachronism - a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under his placid skin and you'll find an angry man who grew up hard in rural Kentucky, with an outlaw father, who knows a lot more about who he doesn't want to be than who he really is. Written by FX Publicity
it does help that Marshal Raylan is really easy on the eyes - ha ha ha - and i just love that hat of his - hint hint Husband. okay back to watching the next episode.

Jesus
i'm assuming that most people would recognise who this fellow is....Russell Brand or better yet Katy Perry's boyfriend. not a fan of the guy but i really like his English accent and well.....okay lah he's a bit funny.
why the hell am i writing about him? well, his new movie Get Him to the Greek was on Hollywood One on One today and when my Girl saw him she got so excited shouting, "it's him, it's him" and ran to grabbed her brother who was playing outside, dragged him in front of the telly asking him if he remembered who he was. my Boy looked at his sister with a puzzled look and said, "Jesus?"
OMG it was so hilarious that i nearly rolled off the sofa laughing so hard - seriously i had stitches in my side and my kids just looked at me trying to figure out what was so funny.
when you really look at the guy closely though he does look a bit like the image of Jesus - doesn't he?
anyways, my Girl remembered him from the movie Bedtime Stories (with Adam Sandler).
Jesus - good one - ha ha ha ha.
