Friday Friday Friday

during lunch on Wednesday i noticed that my Boy's front gum was bleeding (nnooooo) - i don't deal well with blood! anyway, his front tooth has been loose for a while now and it looked like it's time to come out. boys being boys he started to fiddle with it - only with the threat that his father was going to use a thread and yank it out that made him stop. when Father came home from work, our friend was proud to show his Dad that his tooth is about to fall out and Dad was happy to pull it out for him. boy, you should have heard the screaming and crying like he was bleeding to death! oh my, the Sister hardly made a sound when any of her teeth were pulled out. that's why i like to call him my little drama queen! this his second teeth but the first front tooth to go. very very early Thursday morning he woke his father to tell him that the tooth fairy had taken his tooth and left his rm1 - Father was not amuse. and yes my kids still believe in the tooth fairy so sshhh don't tell them that it's actually Mummy.

yesterday evening i dragged my Husband to Karamunsing Kompleks to get a digital camera. i'm not only the assistant secretary but now have been assigned to assist in publicity (don't ask me cause i haven't a clue) - all i understand from it is that i'm to take photos for any functions that is organised by the CWL. my excuses that i don't know how to take proper photos and have only started to learn how to use a digital camera fell on deaf ears and was given the task of buying a camera (budget rm500). as i'm still clueless like ada kah digital camera less than rm1000(?) - poor Husband was forced to help me in my quest. and this is what we managed to buy - cost rm490. we decided on this brand as i'm using a Panasonic similar to this one but with more features so i'm comfortable with it. i've already been given an assignment this Sunday!

J posted this on FB a while back - made me miss playing ultimate lah. maybe i turun padang this Sunday. i haven't played for two months now and i'm wondering if i still remember how to throw the disc. have a wonderful weekend everyone!

She Passed!

received an sms yesterday from My Girl's piano teacher to call her - she got the piano exam result! i called her and was told that My Girl passed - yeah! tonight we took the kids out to celebrate with trying this restaurant that serves western food (and it's not Archie de Corner). read about this place on Angeline's blog and it got a good review so must try lah.

fish & chips - my Girl
mixed grill - Husband
lamb chop - Me
nuggets - my Boy

kids enjoyed their meal. the lamp chop was huge so was struggling to finish! overall i would say "ada fight" with Archie de Corner. photos were taken by my long suffering Husband ;)

going to Grade 2 would mean more arguments with my Girl to get her to practice the piano more. oh well, would worry about it next month when she starts the new book.

Rainy Days and Mondays

how appropriate with this wet weather lately plus it's Monday!

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Hangin' around nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Yumcha

went for a "welcome back" drink with my cycling buddies today. it's nice to see everyone dress up other then gym outfits.

"my bike" at the gym

what? you thought i was brave to cycle on the road kah - most likely i'll get knock down loh! this is the only bike that i would use unless someone else got there first. i like the position cause you get to see the instructor very well.

we met up at Ipoh Town Kopitiam to welcome back Angeline to KK. this is my second visit - i prefer here to Old Town - loads more choices on offer.

my tuna sandwich + white coffee

i apologise for the bad photo of the menus cause i'm still not comfortable taking photos as i'm always waiting for the waiter to come over and tell me i'm not allowed to take pictures. i envy Monica as she's snapping away without a care in the world as soon as the food arrives - ha ha ha ha

i actually wanted to try their nasi lemak but didn't want to push my luck with my sore throat so had the tuna sandwich with white coffee.

welcome back Angeline and looking forward to working out with you soon.

hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. leaving you with this really cute guy - enjoy!

You can dance, every dance with the guy
Who gives you the eye, let him hold you tight
And you can smile, every smile for the man
Who held your hand beneath the pale moon light
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me

Oh I know that the music's fine
Like sparklin' wine, go and have your fun
Laugh and sing, but while we're apart
Don't give your heart to anyone
And don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me

Baby don't you know I love you so
Can't you feel it when we touch
I will never never let you go
I love you oh so much

You can dance, go and carry on
Till the night is gone
And it's time to go
If he asks if you're all alone
Can he walk you home, you must tell him no
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
Save the last dance for me

Oh I know that the music's fine
Like sparklin' wine, go and have your fun
Laugh and sing, but while we're apart
Don't give your heart to anyone
And don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me

So don't forget who's taking you home
Or in whose arms you're gonna be
So darling, save the last dance for me
Oh baby, won't you save the last dance for me
O you make a promise you save the last dance for me
Save the last dance the very last dance for me.

It's a Boy!

no, the baby didn't "pop out" of me lah. congratulations goes to Marvin and Jeffrina on their new addition to the family. according to Daddy they were having the baby delivered (caesarean) on 1 August but i guess baby Xavier Constantine was getting scared of the dark so decided to come out early huh ;)

kids were more excited to go see the place where they were born than visiting a baby! oh my, walking down that corridor to the room sure did bring back memories. i remember walking up and down the corridor the next day after my caesarean (you know the faster you are up and about the sooner you get to go home). the worst part (for me) was getting off the bed - it wasn't so much about the pain but the thought that my stitches might come apart (silly me).

he's just being shy
too sleepy to pose for the camera

although you are awfully cute Xavier but you can't beat the awesomeness of my grand baby Mia. - ha ha ha ha

Visit to Carmelite

woke up feeling like this - either i caught it from my Boy or from getting wet last night. used to get sick once a year but since gotten older it's more frequent. *shakes head* wish i had a copy of me to get up and do all my daily chores and allow the sick me to stay in bed ;(

anyways, this didn't stop my Husband and i visiting the Carmelite nuns - we had gone to see them two weeks ago for help and have returned today to thank them for their prayers.

my Mum's oldest sister was a nun here till her death a couple of years ago. i still remember Mum taking us kids to visit her whenever we came to KK - i was fascinated to be talking to my Aunt through bars and mesh.

Husband and i used to attend mass (at the chapel) here every first Friday of the month when i was pregnant with our daughter - remember Husband?

the steep climb leading up to the monastery
stairs going up to the visiting room
a revolving 'window' for visitors to place things and talk to the nun

1st Official Function

for me anyway. i've been appointed as Assistant Secretary to the Catholic Women's League - it's a two year post :(

the new committee members were elected on the 4 July 2010. after the biennial general meeting i was handed this ticket for the dinner celebrating Reverend Johnny Raju eight years of service.

was hoping that it wouldn't rain this evening but no such luck. i really don't like driving at night (especially if i'm using contact lens) and to top it off it's raining heavily some more! parked behind the restaurant but misjudged the distance so had to walk a bit. my feet were wet and cold by the time i found my table :(

(photo from website as it was pouring rain)

i didn't dare take anymore photos as the look from my fellow diners weren't encouraging ;( - the food was okay only. the biggest surprise (for me anyway) was how good a singer Reverend Michael Modoit was - i knew he sings but didn't realise he was that good! Steffy you should have entertained us with a song or two. there was one singer who "stood out" - one brother from Tuaran - if i was drinking my tea at that time i probably would have sprayed my fellow diners - ha ha ha ha.

Despicable Me in 3D

"he's so fluffy i'm gonna die!" - LOVE this child!

'ruthless minions' - ha ha ha ha

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru, planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. (Yes, the moon!) Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes. Written by Universal Pictures

a must must must watch movie!! go now if possible! can we go and see it again Husband? as we didn't have any plans this weekend we decided to take the kids to the new animated movie after their piano lesson. since MegaLong Cineplex wasn't showing Despicable Me we decided on GSC Suria. it's the whole family's first experience in 3D (i know so kasian kan) - kids were so excited not for the movie but for the chance to use the 3D glasses! wow, expensive watching movie in 3D. nevermind lah it's an experience - now we can say we've watched a 3D movie ;)

bear with me it's our first time watching at this cinema and also in 3D so have to take photos :)

Suria Sabah (yes, it was raining again)

adult rm15/children rm10 - the most we ever paid for a movie!

can't watch a movie without popcorn

modeling the 3D glasses

now go - go watch this movie.

It's Friday!

seriously this is getting scary - how do the days just passes so fast?! how's the week been treating you? mine has been good - just a little hitch with my Boy started to have a runny nose yesterday. good luck to me and Husband from getting him to stop eating ice! this child can eat ice the whole day if he could get away with it. i stopped making ice cubes once - he went and made them himself!

have any great plans this weekend? doesn't look like we have any so it's free and easy for us.

enjoy this video clip by Anggun and also check out the French version - which one do you think sounds better? i like the French version ;)

Only tell me that you still want me here
When you wander off out there
To those hills of dust and hard winds that blow
In that dry white ocean alone
Lost out in the desert
you are lost out in the desert
But to stand with you in a ring of fire
I'll forget the days gone by
I'll protect your body and guard your soul
From mirages in your sight
Lost out in the desert
If your hopes scatter like the dust across your track
I'll be the moon that shines on your path
The sun may blind our eyes, I'll pray the skies above
for snow to fall on the Sahara
If that's the only place where you can leave your doubts
I'll hold you up and be your way out
And if we burn away, I'll pray the skies above for snow to fall on the Sahara
Just a wish and I will cover your shoulders
With veils of silk and gold
When the shadows come and darken your heart
Leaving you with regrets so cold
Lost out in the desert
If your hopes scatter like the dust across your track
I'll be the moon that shines on your path
The sun may blind our eyes, I'll pray the skies above
for snow to fall on the Sahara
If that's the only place where you can leave your doubts
I'll hold you up and be your way out
And if we burn away, I'll pray the skies above for snow to fall on the Sahara

Dis-moi simplement si tu veux de moi
Quand tu partiras là-bas

(note : i'm not too sure about the lyrics as i don't speak/understand French - lyrics are sourced here.)

Backyard Shots

just a few creatures from our backyard that i managed to capture with my tiny digital camera. have seen a baby monitor lizard but i'm like a bull in a china shop and they have super sensitive hearing so have yet to get a photo of it. snakes have come into our wet kitchen area three (maybe two) times now. lots of different kind of birds but like the monitor lizard i've yet to get a good shot.

miss dragonfly

mrs dragonfly

can you spot the grasshopper?

madam butterfly

mr grasshopper

the bird refused to work with me :(

caterpillar alert! did it changed into moth/butterfly or the birds got it?

nasty red ant on neighbour's mango tree - they come to our side too!

master snail - not kind to my chili padi plant!

please note that none of the creatures were harmed during these "photo sessions" :)
